A perfect sequel,
Batman: Arkham Asylum was a great game. It had a compelling (though straightforward) story, amazing graphics, and flawless combat gameplay.
Arkham City does everything better.
Arkham City has everything. The story is equal to many of the best comics and nearly level with Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. Each villain gets their turn in the limelight and they do not disappoint. The combat has been expanded with a host of new combo/finisher moves, new enemy types, and better gadget incorporation. The gadgets themselves are improved and new ones are added. The predator sequences have new challenges as well. In short, you will likely never be bored playing Arkham City. Once again, it perfectly captures being Batman.
The GOTY edition is also a great value. There is an insane amount of content here–more than anyone has time for. I’ve had it a month and I’ve only completed about half. The Catwoman missions pad out the story, and while they’re nothing to write home about, they certainly mix things up for a bit. Harley Quinn’s Revenge provides a decent expansion of the story and a bit of a challenge. The New Game Plus mode easily doubles (if not more) the enjoyment of the campaign. But most of all, this content is packed with Riddler challenges.
Once you’ve unlocked them, the Riddler challenges become the real meat of the game. Running through the combat and predator modes, as each of four fun and unique characters with many different costumes available (again, gotta love the GOTY edition) extends the life of this game by hours if not days. Battling challenging enemies in combat and finding new ways to hunt enemies in predator will make you fall in love with Arkham City all over again.
The Riddler campaigns, too, add a new twist to challenge. By stringing together 3 challenges with new modifiers, they allow you to enjoy them again and perhaps have even more of a challenge.
There is easily 100+ hours of content here, and none of it feels like filler. All of it is fun, challenging, and refreshing. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call this a perfect game. I’d recommend this game to anyone who can play, but especially those who like Batman.

|So far so good…,
Well I was at first very disappointed after downloading 4-5 hrs then finding an error corrupt message. Not sure what happened but I did have to restart the download once after my mac went into sleep mode. Not sure if that had anything to do with it since it’s suppose to pick-up where it stopped downlading.
So after my initial frustration I had to delete it completely from my computer and start the process again, i did turn off the sleep mode just in case it had something to do with it. Finally it worked the 2nd time. Started playing and looking forward to playing it some mooooore.
